Star Rejects Anti-Vaccine Stance Following Voicing Controversial Coronavirus Film

Liam Neeson has provided his narration to a recent film that challenges the efficacy of vaccinations and commends former cabinet secretary RFK Jr.

The Film's Provocative Foundation

Called "Plague of Corruption," the film is inspired by a well-known publication published by a controversial scientist, who gained notoriety during the global outbreak for assertions that the illness was a result of a problematic version of the flu vaccine.

The publication's collaborator, the executive producer, has penned books with conspiracy-prone radio host a known commentator. Heckenlively took to social media celebrating Neeson's participation in the project.

A Firm Denial

The team of the actor have issued a comment firmly refuting implications that he supports anti-vax sentiments.

"Many understand that corruption may occur within the drug industry, but that must not be equated to being against vaccines," the statement explains. "He has never been, and remains not, anti-vax. His long work with the UN children's agency underscores his long-held support for global immunisation initiatives."

It continued that the performer did not shape the documentary's messaging and that questions about its claims ought to go to the creators.

Key Themes Featured in the Feature

According to the documentary, the voiceover spoken by Neeson makes several strong points:

  • It claims that pro-vaccine voices have insisted on "blind obedience" to health authorities.
  • It argues that "research has become dangerously influenced by politics."
  • Kennedy is shown stating, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they simply are not properly vetted."
  • It takes aim at pandemic restrictions, arguing they caused mental anguish that cost thousands of lives.
  • On the topic of the immunizations, it references a view that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "risky trials."

Previous Controversy and Ongoing Disputes

It includes a 2004 BBC documentary about AIDS medication trials on children, which was later the subject of a BBC apology by the network for unbalanced reporting.

Recently, the political figure called on the Centers for Disease Control to revise its official position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism. This supposed link is repeated in the film, even with a new report from the WHO stating no such link has been found.

A Previous Record of Advocacy

Differing from the documentary's tone, Neeson has formerly voiced firm endorsement for vaccines in his capacity as a Unicef global ambassador.

Previously, he described vaccines as "an incredible triumph," adding that "The conversation about vaccines in recent years has forgotten how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in history."

"Plague of Corruption" finishes with Neeson's voice saying, "This is not the conclusion of our journey. Rather, it is the dawn of a fresh chapter."
