Raducanu advanced to round three in three out of four Grand Slams in the current campaign.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her remaining competitions this season because of the illness that has affected her for the last week and a half.

At 22 years old had planned to participate in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to regain her health prior to beginning next year's training.

Those preparations will involve her coach Francisco Roig, as they have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.

The tennis professional had her blood pressure taken while playing the initial match versus Ann Li in Wuhan and withdrew when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She again required a doctor's assessment at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

Raducanu was also moving far from freely in the third set in the match with Zhu due to a lower back issue that has troubled her on several occasions in 2025.

Such performances signaled a promising season, in which the player advanced into the world's top 30 after more than three years in more than three years, concluded with three straight losses.

She held three match points then was defeated by Pegula in the third round in last month's Beijing event.

Raducanu won 28 matches this year and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at March's Miami Open.

Ranked first in Britain reached the quarter-finals of this WTA 1000 tournament, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way prior to a loss in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

She was coached by trainer Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig taking over for the US Open.

The initial agreement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was for the remainder of the year but the partnership will continue, with planned training sessions in the coming months.

The athlete revealed that her three-day trial with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

The player was close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati in August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage before being beaten by Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
