Vince Zampella, Dies in an LA Car Crash
The visionary game developer, who helped create the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has tragically died in a vehicle crash in Los Angeles, California at the age of 55.
Zampella's death was verified by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the development studio that he helped create.
The renowned game designer lost his life when his automobile collided and caught fire on a motorway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.
"We are facing an unimaginable loss, and we stand with his family and friends, his family, and the countless individuals inspired by his legacy," an official with Electronic Arts said.
